If you are coming to Rocky Glen on I90 West the exit for I39 South and Bypass 20
is closed due to construction. There is a diversion in effect which will take you
on to Irene Road. The following information was taken from the Illinois Tollway
website. CLICK HERE for updates from the Tollway website.. Update – Cherry Valley Interchange at I-90/I-39 [Download today's daily report of system-wide lane closures...] Traffic has now shifted to the new, two-lane northbound I-39 flyover ramp bridge to westbound I-90 as construction on the new ramp was completed in early May. Westbound traffic between the Kishwaukee River and East State Street (Business Route U.S. 20) is shifted onto the eastbound side of the road in order to maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction. Eastbound traffic has shifted to the right to accommodate the traffic shift. The ramp from westbound I-90 to southbound I-39/U.S. 51 is closed and a posted detour route is in place for drivers who want to reach southbound I-39/U.S. 51. The detour directs traffic from westbound I-90 to a new exit ramp at Irene Road to reach westbound U.S. 20, which allows drivers to travel the 3.5 miles to reach the I-39/U.S. 51 Interchange (see map below). Drivers who want to reach the Chicago/Rockford International Airport and the village of Freeport should utilize the Irene Road detour to reach westbound U.S. 20. The detour will remain in place through the 2009 construction season. . |
